Western Masters Karate System is a dynamic, exciting, progressive martial arts system. Incorporating aspects from Tae Kwon Do, Tang Soo Do, and Isshin Ryu, the WMKS has been constantly evolving to reflect the newest training methods while still respecting tradition. Western Masters seeks to unite mind, body, and spirit. Training includes self defense and sport aspects as well as encouraging mental growth. Western Masters Karate System students are always striving to be in top shape mentally and physically so that they can succeed in the dojo, on the tournament floor, on the street, and in life. The spirit is tempered through challenges, forging the student's will into an indomitable force which carries over outside of the martial arts. Students are taught to set goals, and then work to achieve those goals. A general overview of martial arts history is taught in order give students a sense of where their art came from so they may better understand where it may go. Instructors and students of other systems and styles may be brought in to expose WMKS students in order to give them a better perspective on martial arts as a whole. |
